In 2002 the company was acquired for $570 million by Danish corporation Group 4 Falck which then merged to form British company G4S in 2004. In 2010, G4S Wackenhut changed its name to G4S Secure Solutions (USA) to reflect the new business model.
G4S plc (formerly Group 4 Securicor) is the British company headquartered in Crawley, United Kingdom. It is the world's largest security company measured by revenues and has operations in more than 125 countries. With over 657,000 employees, it is the world's third-largest private sector employer after Wal-Mart Stores and Foxconn.
G4S has a primary listing on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. It has a secondary listing on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
The British man who blew the whistle on G4S after being employed without a background check by the security company responsible for the 2012 Olympics, along with shocking plans for an evacuation of London, has revealed his identity following fears for his safety.
Assuming the pseudonym ‘Lee Hazledean’ for the purposes of radio interviews conducted over the last week, the whistleblower exposed how he had infiltrated G4S as an employee and uncovered how security preparations for the Olympics were so poor that they were inviting a terrorist attack, has revealed himself to be Ben Fellows, an independent filmmaker who claims to have been mentored by the late Stanley Kubrick.

Ben Fellows grew up with his adopted parents in Birmingham, becoming a child actor and a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company at the age of 11.
He appeared in TV and theatre shows, including Starlight Express, EastEnders, Model Millie and The Bill, while attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School. He also performed at The Birmingham Rep, Alex and Hippodrome on many occasions.
He moved into film-making in his late teens and was mentored by the late Stanley Kubrick and more recently Mike Leigh as well as winning a Channel 4 scholarship to attend film school.
In the summer of 2008 Ben Fellows began work on his first full length movie, The Greenwich Village Massacre but in September he received a call from his anonymous U.S. investor saying he was going to have to pull out owing to the financial crisis.
Ben Fellows met the US backer during the release of his first film in New York, a feature documentary called I Was Jonathan Pitt, dealing with his search for his birth mother who put him up for adoption.
The Greenwich Village Massacre is based on a true story of a series of murders that occurred in 2001 and stars Tony Mortimer, a founding member of 90s band East 17.

Fellows also revealed that Andy Davies, Channel 4 News Home Affairs Correspondent, demanded that he retract statements made during a radio interview with BCFM’s Friday Drivetime in which Fellows said of Davies, “I sent him an email, I called, he wasn’t interested and he said there’s a media blackout on this kind of story, that nobody would be interested in running it.” Davies responded by claiming he never read Fellows’ original email and that the two never had a conversation about the issue. “I emailed Andy Davies on the 13th of June and pitched the story to him, he then called me back and we talked,” claims Fellows, who is now going public to offset his concern that his name may have been privately passed to G4S.
Fellows’ revelations about how he infiltrated G4S and what he discovered were nothing less than astounding. However, the mainstream media chose to run a whitewash, focusing instead on relatively tame security lapses and ignoring Fellows’ story altogether, despite the fact that it had already gone viral in the alternative media.
During his time working for G4S over the past several months, Fellows learned of numerous disturbing developments.
Fellows was able to get the job of a security officer via a simple application process.
No background checks were carried out and his personal references were not checked.
Fellows was successful in taking guns, knives and explosives through both metal detectors and body scanners on numerous occasions during dummy runs.
Fellows was told that metal detectors and body scanners would be deactivated at peak times in order to get crowds into the Olympic venue quickly.
Fellows was also informed that 200,000 casket linings that can hold four dead bodies each have been shipped into London in preparation for the Games.
Thousands of foreign troops under the auspices of the United Nations have also been brought into London.
Plans for an evacuation of London in the aftermath of a deadly terrorist attack have been discussed at great length.
G4S employees were briefed on the evacuation plan to a greater extent than the time spent on training them to conduct security screening.
G4S security staff have been caught doing drug deals while in training with no retribution.
Uniforms have also been handed out to unauthorized personnel as well as uniforms being stolen.
G4S staff have also been caught taking photographs on their cellphones of secure locations.
Fellows was told that Predator drones of the type used in Afghanistan and Yemen would be circling London during the Olympics.
Fellows believes G4S security staff are so poorly trained and the security operation as a whole is so lax that terrorists could quite easily stage a “massacre” during the Games.
G4S are talking about brand screening the spectators despite publicly saying it will not happen. Ian Horseman Sewell, MD Global Events has said they will not brand screen. However during Fellows' training he claims he was specifically told that if someone turned up in say a tee shirt from a company who wasnt sponsoring the Olympics then he would need to tell them to take off their tee shirt and turn it inside out, get changed into another or go home and change, as a condition of entry. If they turned the tee-shirt back the right way once inside the venue Lee was told they would be ejected from the Olympics. Fellows been told that certain people called Internationally Protected People cannot be screened? IPPs are anybody that LOCOG say they are.
Why have British authorities allowed G4S to increase their olympic contract from £86m to a staggering £284m - and still want more. There has been no proper oversight whatever by our politicians so why not? Could it have something to do with certain politicians having huge financial interests in G4S? How do you evacuate the Olympic stadium? How do you evacuate the Olympic park? G4S trainers told Fellows about evacuating London but not discussed what the emergency procedures are for evacuating any Stadium in the event of an emergency.
... and just before we jump to any conclusions ...
This is such a non-story, but I am afraid that I have to provide a conclusion to the article that appeared immediately prior to this on the Editorials section of this site.
Because he has now revealed his own identity, I am now able to publish the full version of a comment, submitted by ‘Whistleblower no2’ that identified Lee Hazledean, the so-called Olympics G4S whistleblower, as Ben Fellows. The comment was received two days before Fellows ‘out-ed’ himself, seemingly, to Infowars today, 2nd July.
Infowars has been making a great deal about Fellows’ extraordinary claims regarding plans for the evacuation of London, foreign troops on UK soil, and the delivery of casket-liners. I don’t think it is even true to say, as Infowars does, that Fellows ‘uncovered how security preparations for the Olympics were so poor that they were inviting a terrorist attack’. In fact, if Fellows actually works for G4S as he says he does, then maybe all we can say about him is that he added to a repository of data that suggested miserable levels of competence in the delivery of Olympics’ security. I am certainly not very interested in catching Infowars in acts of hyperbole, but, as I have mentioned elsewhere, elements of Fellows’ story are a terrible distraction from the real issue of the introduction of large-scale security theatre, and the additional scandal of how measures to deter real low-level crime during the Olympics have been sacrificed. I happen to think that Fellows’ information is still highly dubious, and remains to be verified.
Some suspicious people might say that Fellows is going public now to exploit an appearance on Alex Jones’ radio show; he can’t make a name if people don’t know what it is. I am not saying that this is the case, but I am saying that as a motivation, given all that I know, it is perhaps more laudable than the reason Fellows gave for revealing his identity – which may not have occurred to him until Jones mentioned it during a broadcasted discussion with ‘Hazledean’. G4S has only ever sacked whistleblowers – I don’t think that anyone has received a wooden overcoat yet, which is a flippant way of saying that no one has come to physical harm.
What follows is the aforementioned comment. The commenter, ‘Whistleblower no2′ obviously knew Fellows well enough, despite the alias, to be able to ‘instantly’ recognise his voice. I think that this lends some credibility, but the reader must remember that ‘Whistleblower no2′ is also anonymous. Anyway, I leave it to the reader to decide.
I know who ‘Lee Hazeldean’ is. His voice is instantly recognisable as one Ben Fellows, a below-average ‘filmmaker’ who has his own channel on Youtube (if you play the radio interview and then his documentary you’ll recognise his distinct voice and turn of phrase as they didn’t use a voice disguise on the radio interview). He’s completely delusional, a fantasist and attention-seeker. He was an actor at one time and has created a web of lies around his career as he’s very charming, charismatic and articulate. He told me he worked for the Cook Report and all that Northern Ireland bs too. But he’s the biggest fake I’ve ever met. And possibly mentally ill. I once knew him well and he displays nine of the eleven traits of someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He might be a security guard for G4s but don’t believe anything he says.
